HypeFeeder: Would you care to introduce yourself for our audience? What is your name and what do you do?
Daforce Dawg: Most def, I go by the name Daforce for short or Daforce Dawg spelt many different ways. I am a rapper/producer, as for the producing side I’m not exclusive only to Hip-Hop.
HypeFeeder: What are you up to at the moment? Is there something you’re working on currently?
Daforce Dawg: At the current moment I am working on a follow up single with Curtis Dayne and a debut single for
newly signed Unknown Source Music artist Kay Dallas. We are in the process of changing our sound in the past recordings I tried to keep it raw as possible without any effects on the instruments.
HypeFeeder: Where are you from? Do you feel your location has any effect on the music you make?
Daforce Dawg: I’m originally from the North Side but been on the Westside for longer than you are legally required to hold on tax slips.
HypeFeeder: It can be a difficult task to describe one’s own artistic talents, but how would you describe your music?
Daforce Dawg: You are right it is difficult to describe my own talents and find it much easier to see it in others doing the same thing. As a producer I try to have people listen to my music in it’s purest form. Kinda like a jazz band from the 20’s. As a rapper I try to be different, individuality, and I put the words together in a different way so people can see a vivid picture.
HypeFeeder: Can you talk about your production process? How do you go about writing new material?
Daforce Dawg: For my production process it’s different when I’m creating a Hip-Hop tune against producing a
Dance Hall song or EDM track, the selection of sounds and instrumentation can be simple or complicated at times. When creating for myself there isn’t a process, I do whatever is on my mind at the time. If I’m feeling weird I’ll do that none traditional to the genre whatever it is I do it.
HypeFeeder: What and who are some of your major influences? Fans always love getting to know their favorite artists. Please give a few details about what you enjoy about creating music and what inspires you to make it.
Daforce Dawg: Basically I have been influenced by all kinds. Some I love more than others, even by some I don’t even relate to I absorb everything and spit out what is toxic to me in terms of growth. Bootsy Collins, MJ,Prince, Dre, Run Dmc and almost everyone on Motown. The list goes on.
HypeFeeder: What’s the worst/best venue or show you’ve ever played? What made it so good/bad?
Daforce Dawg: For me every show was a success, because I learned from every show and keep it moving.
HypeFeeder: Have you played any shows or toured alongside any major artists? Are there any shows that come to mind that you feel make a great story? If so, tell us about it.
Daforce Dawg: Yes, I opened up for lots of major artists like Redman, Too Short, Krs One, Run and many others.
HypeFeeder: Is there any band or artist you would give anything to play a show with? If so, who are they and why?
Daforce Dawg: Performance yea sure would love to perform with Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Snoop and a few others. I’ve seen these dude many times and are super sharp and don’t play around.
HypeFeeder: What are you hopes for the future? Where do you see yourself as an artist this time next year or the year after?
Daforce Dawg: Hopefully next year I’ll be out kicking it in a few more cities and hope sooner than later I’d be holding that platinum record.
HypeFeeder: If I was to turn up at a show, what should I expect from you in terms of music and showmanship? Is there any crazy stuff you do to pull the crowd?
Daforce Dawg: Yea, I def communicate with the crowd but you just got gotta be at one of the shows to see how it all goes down.
HypeFeeder: Do you receive much fan mail, and if so what’s the craziest, creepiest or coolest thing you’ve ever gotten from a fan?
Daforce Dawg: Most def, Curtis Dayne and I receive all kinds from rappers wanting to get on to girls trying to get at us if you know what I’m saying.
HypeFeeder: Just for fun, what’s your current ringtone? Why did you choose it?
Daforce Dawg: I switch it up every other day, but right now I have T.I’s what you know bout dat ring tone.
HypeFeeder: Thank you for taking the time to speak to about what you do. Do you have any final words, or anything you would like to add?
