Motley Crue live: soon to be a mere memory

Mötley Crüe have confirmed rumours that they are to head out on tour one more time before splitting up forever.

The glam metal icons confirmed the news in a press conference in LA, even going as far as to sign a formal Cessation Of Touring Agreement, which is effective at the end of 2015.

As we revealed via Twitter earlier tonight, the band are now legally bound to quit appearances together as of the end of next year, meaning that their imminent dates – dubbed The Final Tour and featuring support from Alice Cooper – really will be the last time we see the legendary foursome on the road.

“When it comes to putting together a new show we always push the envelope and that’s part of Motley Crue’s legacy,” explains Nikki Sixx (bass). “As far as letting on to what we’re doing, that would be like finding out what you’re getting for Christmas before you open the presents. We think in an age of too much information, we’d like to keep some surprises close to our chest until we launch the Final Tour.”

Taking in a wealth of dates Stateside this year before crossing over into Europe and beyond in 2014, The Final Tour promises to be one of the biggest Crue productions ever produced, and will doubtless be a hell of a spectacle. Those final dates will coincide with the long-awaited release of the film adaptation of Crue biography The Dirt, of which more news will come very soon.
