Sad news from Switzerland as it has been reported that a fan at a Suicidal Tendences gig in Solothurn passed away after being rushed to hospital following a stage dive gone wrong.
Blabbermouth is reporting that the incident happened during the crossover legends’ set at the Kulturfabrik Kofmehl venue on January 22. While the fan seemed to be OK at first after diving from the stage and failing to be caught properly by the crowd, he was admitted to the Bern University Hospital, where he suffered an epileptic seizure and was pronounced dead two days later.
“Unfortunately, crowd members failed to properly catch him and he fell to the ground,” explains Pipo Kofmehl, owner of the venue. “A security guard responded immediately, helped the young man and our emergency unit reacted as well. Our team decided that he should immediately seek hospital care.”
An investigation is currently being launched into the incident. It goes without saying that our wishes go out to the gig-goer’s family and close ones, and although instances like these are extremely rare, please do stay safe and look after yourselves, people.
