Joey Jordison: Knot-less

Other than both being fucking brilliant, Slipknot and Polish death metal heavyweights Decapitated don’t exactly have a whole lot in common.

Still, that hasn’t stopped former Decapitated drummer Kerim ‘Krimh’ Lechner posting up some hopeful videos showing him laying waste to some classic ‘Knot tracks in a rather audacious attempt to land the slot recently vacated by Joey Jordison.

“This is an audition video!,” comments the man himself enthusiastically. “There is no official audition going on but I want to give it a shot just in case the band is searching for a new drummer. I have always liked this band and their music. They influenced me quite a lot in my early years of drumming. We used no triggering or drum replacements on this recording. All natural sound! Drums were recorded in Vienna Austria by my friend Norbert Leitner. I have to say it wasn’t as easy as i thought. This album was recorded without a click track which means you have to really feel this song to play through. I hope you like it!”

See what he’s packing below:

Slipknot announced that Joey had left the fold just prior to Christmas, with Joey later insisting that he has not in fact quit the band. We’ll still have to wait and see how this one paves out, but with a new ‘Knot album on the way this year, it’s guaranteed to be a turbulent few months…
